I was born again In Hebron Youth Camp in 1990. Hebron is a church founded by Bro. Bhakth Singh in Hyderabad, India in the mid 1950s. Hebron is spread all over the world. When I was praying about New Jersey which is my adjacent state to Delaware, If you know the topography and geography of New Jersey, Edison is predominantly filled with Indians. There are Hebron churches in New York and Philadelphia but none whatsoever in New Jersey. So God put this burden this burden in my heart.
Since August 2023, God had put this thought in my mind to start an Indian church in New Jersey. Since, Jan 2023, I had already started a Bible Study called Living Waters in Cumming, GA but to start another Bible Study (with the intention of becoming a church) was too much for me. Yet, when God is at work, we need to jump in. I had a burden for New Jersey, of course. Lot of Hindu influence is on the rise with the coming of new temples in Edison (which is predominantly thickly populated with Indians). Out of the blue, God abruptly put this plan on hold with my open heart surgery of 5 bypasses and replacement of valve. New Jersey church plan was not put on hold.
In February 2024, God gave me the opportunity to start Bible Study in New Jersey. I tried to start the study in people’s houses but God did not give me peace nor paved the way. Prayerfully, I started looking for a church building. It was God’s providence that we found a church in Edison (Oaktree Presbyterian Church in Iselin). Every 2nd and 4th Saturday, I started a Bible Study. Only those who were willing to come were joining the study. Most of them came from Edison and other neighboring areas. Some even came from Philadelphia too. While the Bible study was gaining traction, I did not know how long I would have to wait to start the church.
In January 2025, God opened a door for us to begin New Jersey House of Prayer in Edison. God started adding people to the church.
